Coverage Outside the U.S.

Medical

Medical care while traveling or living outside of the continental U.S., including foreign assignments, is covered under the AG medical plans.

Outside the U.S. (for 6 months or less)

If you are traveling outside the U.S. for a period of 6 months or less and require medical care, the hospital or doctor may require payment up front and you will submit for reimbursement through your medical insurance carrier using a Foreign Travel Medical Claim Form. To expedite processing of your foreign claim please include the following:

  • The claim form, provider invoice and any documentation required to process the claim must be submitted in the English Language.
  • The charges for services must be converted into U.S. dollars.
  • A current published conversion chart, validating the conversion from the foreign country's currency into U.S. dollars, must be submitted with the claim.

Outside the U.S. (6 months or more)

Benefits eligible American Greetings Corporation and Papyrus Recycled Greetings associates, living outside of the U.S. for over six (6) months, will be eligible for Cigna International (including medical/prescription drug, dental, $25,000 basic life insurance/AD&D), FSA, short-term disability, long-term disability, retirement savings plan (401(k)) and all other optional benefits. LTD, BTA and optional Life/AD&D require special approval for coverage to take effect.
